Vehicle maintenance policy

Updated October 7, 2026

To ensure user safety and service quality, Rentalo requires every vehicle listed on our platform to be in optimal mechanical, cosmetic and legal condition.

The owner is responsible for keeping their vehicle in proper condition. Failing to follow this policy may lead to penalties, including suspension or removal of the vehicle from the platform.

General requirements for listing

Every vehicle must meet the following to be accepted on Rentalo:

  • Current registration plate or registration certificate.
  • Mandatory insurance up to date.

  • Airbags with no alerts, warnings or recalls.
  • SRS/OCS systems with no errors.

Responsibility and consequences

The owner must make sure the vehicle is maintained regularly. Rentalo may ask for evidence of preventive or corrective maintenance whenever it considers it necessary.

If the vehicle has a mechanical failure before a rental starts, the owner must cover the cost of repair or provide another vehicle in similar condition so the booking can go ahead.

If the vehicle has a mechanical failure during a rental, it will be blocked on the platform immediately until the owner:

  • Makes the necessary repairs.
  • Sends clear evidence of the work done.

If the repairs are not made or no valid evidence is provided, the vehicle will be permanently removed from the platform.

All costs arising from negligent maintenance are the sole responsibility of the owner.
